Description:

The responsibilities of the Housing/ULURP Committee include:

Identify needs and strategies for neighborhood improvements
Assess vacant buildings in the neighborhood for possible seal-up or demolition
Monitor inspection services of the Dept. of Buildings and the Dept. of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD)
Establish budget priorities and make recommendations to the Board on housing issues
Monitor housing construction and rehabilitation projects
Make recommendations on the disposition of City-owned property in the District
Plan and conduct public hearings on land use terms
Assess local needs and take notice of district changes, i.e., economic growth and housing
Review ULURP (Uniform Land Use Review Procedure) applications and make recommendations to the full Board
