Description:
Tired of the litter in the grass, the plastic bags in the bushes? Want to meet your neighbors from Prospect Heights and Park Slop? Join Friends of the Berms for its monthly green-up day. This marks the group's eleventh year of cleaning and beautifying Grand Army Plaza. And on Saturday, May 5, they'll be planting small trees and shrubs! This will help fill in and beautify some of the bare spots in the berms where older trees have died or fallen.
They'll be meeting at the corner of Plaza Street and Vanderbilt Avenue, and moving from there to the day's work site. Tasks may include: picking up litter, removing invasive plants and planting bulbs, shrubs or small trees. Gloves and tools are provided. Experience is not required; just a smile. Adults and supervised children are welcome.
