On January 24, the popular PBS television program "This Old House" will feature the renovation of a Prospect Heights brownstone. The house, located on Sterling Place between Underhill Avenue and Washington Avenue, was built in 1905 and is being completely remodeled by its present owners, Karen Shen and Kevin Costello.

Citizens Committee for New York City is a not-for-profit organization that supports grassroots groups across the city in their efforts to build stronger communities. Twice a year, it awards grants of $500 to $3,000 to community groups in economically under-resourced neighborhoods to work on community improvement projects.

At its July 15 meeting, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission voted in favor of "calendaring" the proposed Prospect Heights Historic District for a public hearing on October 28.
At the October 28 hearing, public testimony will be heard with respect to the proposed historic district. PHNDC.org will post the time of the hearing when it is published.
